Longtime experience heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko (26-1) has been confirmed as a participant in an upcoming New Year's Eve show that ordain take place in Japan. Other former PRIDE fighters are expected to be added to the card over the next couple of weeks. The event which is being "supported" by M-1 Global will be available on pay-per-view via SkyPerfecTV. Emelianenko penned an open earn to fans in Japan saying he wanted to fight for them on New Yearâ??s Eve which had become an annual tradition for the fighter. I still can't figure out why Zuffa didn't really do anything in lacquer. Basically they let M-1 get Japan for free. The UFC has been working hard in other areas. I now evaluate that the UFC would undergo been better off just getting contracts with the top names from PRIDE without buying it. For $70 Million all they got was a video library and a few decent fighters. The sh!t the bed on this. M-1 is going to come it and get MMA going in Japan again. I know K-1 is still there but with a card desire this M-1 should be book. But too much rides on Fedor. Mr. Jitters,You are completely wrong. M-1 is not holding the card in Japan. They are supporting the card and by support they are lending fighters to the event. This is not an M-1 Global contend separate. It's much like Bodog sponsoring the Strikeforce event cards. They alter fighters to the events ie. Trevor Prangley in the tournament and other Bodog fighters on other events. This event is being put together by former DSE employees with M-1's give. Secondly go April or May the UFC ordain have a presence in lacquer bet on it. Thirdly. Barnett has already stated that he will fight Fedor when the determine is right and the measure is right. They may be friends but the fight will come about down the lie.
I thought that Monte Cox was in charge of the company??? We see that Finkelstein and Fedor are running the show. M-1 HAS NOT even had its first show and Fedor is fighting for another promotion. Who knows these "PRIDE" guys may be trying to start up another "experience" like promotion and using Fedor to do it. While M-1 is using Fedor for the EXACT same reason and they "rent" Fedor out. I juat dont get it. What if Fedor gets injured or change surface worse loses to a guy with 1 mma fight?? Then M-1 is screwed before even getting to use their huge investment..... They let another organization reap the benefits
Ciaran-I agree Choi has some study courage going against Fedor. I dont evaluate most populate are disrespecting him. I evaluate rather we are left scratching our heads as to why he has been given the come about and it seems as if Fedor and/or M-1 are putting on an easy win for their marquee fighter. I experience that is what is frustrating to me. If this is how M-1 runs their organization then the fights will be very lopsided and I dont accept it will last. It almost seems smarter to hold out the extra time and put on a great main event as opposed to a seemingly one sided fight. I comfort think Choi has all the chance in the world to win this and I am actually getting behind him in this fight.
Junkie,Thanks for enforcing civility. I desire a good argument as much as the next fight fan but it has to be tactful. We've been wading through too much junk lately to get to the interesting comments. I'd be surprised if the UFC didn't have some sort of non-compete agreement with all principals in the former experience covering promotions of other MMA events. Do you have any knowledge of the purchase agreement? I undergo a feeling we may be hearing about some legal challenge from the UFC pretty soon. .
i actually think it may be a good fight after watching some videos of choi althought some he looked horrible in others he looked pretty good. Not to mention his size is crazy 7 ft 2 and atleast 350!!! The guy has a great come about to beat any one his arrive is desire a foot longer than anyone elses in the sport. He may not undergo mch MMA undergo but look at Tim sylvia he sucks compared to most fighters but with his coat and charge he overwhelms most of his opponents. It should be a decent contend. The Card is great i think i'm glad to see that the former experience guys are comfort doing what they like and trying to alter a living off it.

for those who don't experience fedor is about 6.1 in height and go around 220-230 wish is about the weight that most middelweight and lighthavyweight walk around.... i don't get why people challenge his victory over lindland and arona cause there smaller.. it's not like fedor is that big of a Hw.... nobody question randy victory over tito and belfort so why should we challenge fedor wins........ i agree with some of u that the lindland fight might had a different outcome with fedor holding the rope but most fighter do illegal cram in the octagone ( direct shorts holding the gloves,holding the cage holding the confine holding the confine and holding the confine....) in other words: everybody does that so it's not desire it's a big broach.. this is actually not a bad cards just like pridefan said if only they could add barnett to contend fedor
Anyone who thinks this will be a good contend is wrong,Choi has no fasten skills what-so-ever,unless he can KO Fedor (which is unlikely when you evaluate how fast Fedor is) then this fight ordain go to the ground and Fedor ordain just destroy him there. This fight would be illegal in the US or the UK just based on the difference in skill and expierience,not to mention Choi can't contend here anyway coz he has a brain tumor. This contend is ridiculous which ever way you look at it. There is no way to confirm this one and I will wait process someone puts it on youtube to check it. I probably wont even check it then.
i evaluate that the ufc should accept cro cop to contend fedor on one of there card has main event this would be huge for them. ? it would furnish the fan an idea of were fedor stand now has a fighter.... and the plus side of this matchup. would be a high revenu separate for the ufc without destroying the name of ther main hw ( cerebrate why am saying crop it?s beceause he his on a losing move with a chance of gainning his old status has the be 2 with a win and if he lose than the ufc can claim that cro cop is on the downhill)

I'm already getting tired of Fedor and I've barely seen him contend. He is a lion among lambs who for some reason he doesn't seem to fight populate on par with his skill aim. Somebody said this is a no-win situation for Fedor. Are you kidding me? This is a no-lose situation. This is the situation that Fedor put himself in so that he can contend less skilled fighters (with the talent of Giant Silva bequeath him?) so he can keep his #1 be until one day we all wise up and realize you can't be ranked #1 if you're not facing the TOP competition. (Federer has to keep winning tennis tournaments with top competition to keep his #1 ranking you don't see him dodging the tournaments Nadal goes to.) Thus until he stops seeing his name at the top he has no incentive to contend REAL competition thus nothing to lose.
